Municipality Week 2026: Dollard-des-Ormeaux by the numbers

Quebec's Municipality Week ran from September 13 to 19, 2026. The goal is to remind residents how much of daily life depends on local government — and to encourage people to get involved in municipal democracy.

What the City maintains

  • 382 km of roads and 77 km of sidewalks, cleared and repaired all year
  • A winter fleet of about 20 vehicles dedicated to snow removal
  • 34 parks, giving DDO more green space per resident than the provincial standard
  • More than 1,000 new trees planned for 2026

Getting around

Mobility in the West Island is changing quickly: the REM light-rail network, a reorganised STM bus network, seven new BIXI stations in DDO, and ongoing upgrades for pedestrians and cyclists.

Community life

The City supports close to 100 local associations and organisations, and runs recreation, culture and sports programs out of the Civic Centre and other facilities. Municipal patrol, police partners and emergency-preparedness planning round out the City's safety work.

Want to take part? Attend a council meeting, follow your district, or send the City a suggestion.
