Community guidelines

  • Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not people. No harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination.
  • Keep it local and relevant. Posts should relate to life in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
  • Protect privacy. Do not share anyone's personal information, private messages or photos of private individuals without consent.
  • Be truthful. Do not post misleading information, especially about safety or emergencies.
  • No spam. Businesses should use their business profile and announcements, not the forum, for promotion.
  • Use the right channel. Report municipal problems through Contact the City so they are tracked. In an emergency, call 911.

Content that breaks these rules may be hidden or removed, and accounts may receive warnings or be suspended. Use the Report button to flag content for moderators.

Privacy notice

  • What we collect: your email, display name and optional profile details; the content you post; your service requests and their attachments; and messages you send.
  • What is public: only your display name, optional photo and bio, and content you publish. Your email, phone number and real name are never shown publicly. You choose who can see your profile.
  • What stays private: service requests and attachments are visible only to you and authorised city staff. Private messages are visible only to the participants and, when strictly necessary, to administrators — such access is logged.
  • Your control: update your information, notification and privacy settings, or delete your account at any time from your account.
  • Security: passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing, sessions are protected, and uploaded images are re-processed to remove hidden metadata such as GPS location.
